Forests for sustainable development
The project will work with communities to sustainably conserve the natural forest, biodiversity and ecosystem in the district of Amuru and Omoro in Northern Uganda. It will develop green economic opportunities for women, young people and forest enterprises to earn a sustainable living from the production and marketing of forest products. This will be achieved by reducing communities’ need to fell trees and deplete other natural resources through diversification of non-agricultural livelihood options. So that sustainable forestry practices can be rolled out at a wider scale for environmental social and economic sustainability.
