Thomas
Okumu,
is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Trees for Uganda. Growing
up in an environment characterized by lack of opportunity, poverty, crimes,
LRA insurgency for the last 20 years decades, post conflict recovery from LRA's insurgency, land wrangles, poor health,
unemployment and raised by a single mother, he harnessed a spirit of social
responsibility and a passion to give back to his community. He also work as a
field specialist with Redeem International in Uganda. Inspired
by the work of environmental organizations like Trees for the future, Green
belt project, and Tree aid Africa, Conservation international, National
Forest Authority. |
